Time-Saving Kitchen Goods
Below are the best time-saving tools and services I’ve found to stay healthy and well as a busy Girl Boss.
The Fresh 20: If you want to cook your own healthy meals but don’t have time for meal planning, this is a great option for you. It’s a meal-planning service that’s perfect for the busy Girl Boss, focusing on quick, simple and delicious clean-eating recipes that only require buying 20 ingredients (for the whole week!). Each week they email you a meal plan, complete with simple, quick and delicious recipes and a time-saving categorized shopping list. They offer a variety of menu plans that will meet almost any eating style (vegetarian, Paleo, gluten-free, dairy-free, and Kosher to name a few), and it’s also very affordable if you’re on a budget.
SunBasket: This is a great option for busy Girl Bosses who want to cook healthy meals but don’t have time for meal planning OR grocery shopping. This meal-prep service sends you the recipes + all the ingredients you need to make healthy and clean dinners right to your doorstep. There are a many services like this and I’ve tried a lot of them, but Sun Basket is hands-down my fave. I think their meals are the tastiest and most elevated of all the services I’ve tried (perfect for foodies!), and I LOVE that they use organic ingredients as much as possible, plus humanely raised meats and sustainably caught fish and seafood. And all of their packaging is recyclable or compostable. It’s just an amazing company and we’ve never made a meal from them we didn’t love. Try it here to get a big discount on your first delivery!
Breville All-in-One Processing Station: This is one of my most-used kitchen tools and it saves me so much time. I love that it’s really small but super powerful. I use it for chopping, blending, and food processing. This is the newer version that will do even more functions than mine (I’m jealous!).
Cuisinart GreenGourmet Cookware: Safe non-stick cookware that’s free of harmful chemicals like PTFE and PFOA. It has a ceramic-based surface that won’t scratch or peel off like teflon-based products do. I’ve had my set for at least 10 years, probably longer, and they’re still in great condition. These and my beloved (but considerably more expensive) Le Creuset set are the only pots and pans I use.
Natural + Cruelty-Free Beauty Products
Limiting my exposure to toxins and ensuring that I’m using products that weren’t tested on animals are two things that are priorities for me. These are some of my favorite finds that I use on the daily.
Freedom Deodorant I’ve tried a ton of natural deodorants since giving up aluminum-based antiperspirants years ago, and Freedom is the best I’ve found. Even in the Dallas and now Orlando heat, it really works (and I’m pretty smelly)! The Lavender Citrus and Amber scents are my favorite. You can also get them in travel size!
Australian Gold Botanical Sunscreen Tinted Mineral Lotion: I LOVE this sunscreen! It goes on silky smooth and doesn’t feel greasy or sticky, and the tint is just right to smooth out my complexion. During the day, I use it in place of foundation. I also love their non-tinted botanical sunscreen mineral lotion to use everywhere else. It’s AMAZING! Just like their tinted formula, it goes on so smoothly and feels great when you have it on. It’s a mineral sunscreen without harmful chemicals that won’t make your skin look white or washed out (it literally disappears after you put it on). And it works — tried and tested by me in sunny Orlando, Florida!
Time is one of the biggest challenges when it comes to exercising regularly, so I look for short and efficient workouts that I can do at home (because going to the gym = wasted time driving + dealing with traffic). These are some of my favorite at-home workout programs that I use to stay in shape.
12-Week Essential Bodyweight Program Greg Brookes has been a mentor to me and I have used many of his programs over the years to keep myself in shape. I can’t say enough good things about him (as a person and a trainer) and his programs. This particular program is easy-to-follow, requires no equipment, and every workout is under 20 minutes (but still super effective!).
Barre3 Online: In addition to having physical studios, barre3 has an awesome online program! It lets you stream workouts and access a library of really delicious healthy recipes. It also has a cool tracking system that lets you plan your workouts and checks them off when they’re completed (I’m all about positive feedback!). What I love about their workouts is they’re science-based, well-rounded (covering strength, endurance, cardio and flexibility), require little or no equipment, and they actually leave me feeling energized rather than depleted at the end of the workout. Plus I love their body-positive attitude and their philosophy that fitness should be about more than just looking good. Give it a try here and get $10 off your subscription!
Styled Stock Society is an awesome and affordable resource for stylish, feminine stock photos, created especially for girl bosses! The images are curated into helpful collections, and new ones are added each month. Having a go-to resource like this for stylish and on-brand images for your website, blog, and social media feeds is a huge time saver!
Trello: I organize my business and my life with Trello! I think I’ve tried every to-do list and project management app out there, and for a visual person like myself, Trello is the best app out there. It’s so smart and easy to use — and it’s FREE!
Anker Portable Chargers: I never want to be one of those people camped out on the dirty airport floor beside the phone charging station, so I always travel with my Anker portable charger. It has a long battery life and charges my devices very fast. Plus the Anker brand is known for quality and reliability. I also have their lipstick-sized charger that I keep in my purse! (I wish they’d had it in that pretty pink color when I bought mine!)
Jelly Glue TSA-Approved Toiletries Bag: I almost never check a bag, which means I have to fit all of my beauty products into one tiny sandwich bag. I got tired of them breaking after I tried to stuff too much in them, so I got this little travel bag for my toiletries and I love it. It’s TSA-approved and I’ve never had a problem getting through security with it, but I swear it holds more than the standard Ziploc bag. I can fit A LOT into this thing and it’s very durable (and looks much classier than a sandwich bag).
